hello
I have read a post about how to fix the w210 sunroof with an extra screw, I removed my glass & bellows as it wont slide but unsure where the screw should go, would anyone have a drawing please?

Try to retract the carriage, if you see the cables spooling out then you may have dislodged the plastic clip. Replacement clips are cheap. These are held by one screw but have two screw holes because they are ambidextrous. Covering A-210-784-04-56 (No.56 on diagram) with hexalobular bolt (a torx self-tap). It slides down over a tongue and clicks down at the front end, with the single screw in place (which compresses the entire clip) it should not move. I suppose the extra hole could be used for another screw but a hole would have to be drilled through the tongue, and it is not the easiest place to get at. I squirted some bicycle chain lube down the cable run, sorted.

See the exposed cable (left side). The tongue is just above it, single hole thro' to the left. The Cover No.56 stops the cable from spooling out. The cable pushes the glass back under the roof, and pulls it shut (direction to right of pic)

another good tip is to wedge a piece of MB rubber vacuum hose behind the 'tounge' - works like a charm, especially if used with the 2x screw method.

The correct part is £2 from MB. MB screws are "hexalobular" (TorX) which are cheap too but identical to the Philips self-tappers you got in the big boxed-set from Halflords.

Sorry, please explain, I don't quite understand what putting a lump of rubber hose behind the tongue will do, the cable spools out of the front.

Incidently, you can hold the cable in with your thumb. If you do this, the carriage will try to act as a guillotine when you retract it: Ow! - there's not a lot of free room in front of the tongue for DIY components.
