w210 window switches fault

hi all, im chris & new to mbclub. i have 2000 E320 & have just replaced the battery but have noticed that the window switch's will only let me open & close windows by holding switch in its 1st position & not in the 2nd (auto) position, can anyone shed any light on this, cheers

Hold down the button to send the windows all the way up and all the way down a few times and they will revert to normal operation.

If the windows don't operate holding the switch down you'll just have to nudge them along by repeatedly pressing switch in position 1.

Once the windows have completed the cycle they will work properly.
