Guys,

Never really been happy with the 'wood' finish internal trim. Ideally, I'd like to remove, spray black, & replace.

Question is, is the trim removable without removing panels/dash etc. I am hoping its just clipped on, but don't wanna break anything trying.

Regards

I would use some tape which is used car outer taping too.

And actually it IS wood, not 'eco wood' (=plastic) like in many other cars...

I'm with you on the wood thing. Each to their but I hate it.

Wood belongs in classic Jags and porn films.

Mine has been covered with a carbon fibre effect trim (pictures in gallery if you are interested in seeing it).

You can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter - and I love the effect when compared to the alternative...

Did u remove, & retrim, or do in situ? Can u send me a link to your pics in the gallery please.

Thanks

I inherited it so I can't help you with how it was fitted - more an idea of what was possible:

Just an update, have removed all of the wood trim - doors, dash, shift surround, ashtray, cd changer door, every last bit of wood trim removed - the inside of my car looks like its been parked in a council estate overnight:eek:

I have 2 options, fit a complete replacement set, in the blackish wood grain colour, which I purchased off ebay, & sell my brown wood trim set

OR

Retrim the brown wood in 'carbon' effect wrap, & sell on the black wood trim.

The only prob I can see is that I really need to separate the wood, from the backing plate. This is so I can retain the chrome border. The wood has been stuck on, with epoxy, & I may crack the wood. Just wondering if anyome has any tips for the separation?

Will post some pics in the morning.

Regards

Soak in hot water and sharp knife?

what about spray with plasti kote and peel back the chrome bit - job done ?
