Hi guys this is harder than first thought as different motor factors are suggesting different grades and my Merc dealer won't give me any details about the product only price and how many in stock. So what I know so far is that it should take 1.6 litres and grades offered so far are...
75w-85
75w-90
80w-90
Any body know what mercedes use?

Tbh nothing in it. As you're probably not likely to be driving in tropical heat for some time I would stick with the lowest viscosity.

Small tip. Remove the filler plug before you remove the drain plug ;)

I was thinking of this meets mb spec 237.9 although I think the spec is 237.8 is the. 9 the latest? So ok to use?

When I researched the oil for my diff it was sheet 235.7 and one approved oil was Fuchs TITAN SINTOPOID FE 75W-85.

I would go for the thinner of your 3 grades.

That Total manual transmission oil won't be appropriate unless it GL5 Hypoid oil. Manual transmission oil is usually GL4 which means it has less high pressure wear additives making it unsuitable for use in Diffs.

Sorry got my specs mixed up yes ur right it's 235.7 and the oil I'm considering is 75w90 235.8 spec do u think that the spec being .1 of a difference matters

OK I just checked and it is GL5.

The attached document suggests 235.7 for standard differentials but 235.8 doesn't get mentioned so I'm afraid I don't know what difference it would make.

Great I think I'll opt for this then thanks for ur help

Great many thanks! So Merc state 75w-85 so 75w-90 is Same on lower temp but slightly better at higher temps?
