At long last, I'm in a position to get an E55 and after searching all the usual outlets, one came up only a couple of miles from my house. A phone call this evening to the owner and I have a viewing tomorrow evening.

Unfortunately, it's an 04, not a 54 with revised electrics but it is advertised as fully loaded with a full service, new tax, MOT, tyres and brake pads.

It's going to be a long 21hrs, so I just hope it is a good one.
Just have to make sure my heart doesn't rule my head:doh:

Good luck, any links to the car.

I owned an '04 W211 with the revised electrics, if the centre speaker is a mesh then it's the 'newer' version.

Do yourself a favour and make a checklist and write down the questions you need to ask, then try and buy with the head not heart. Difficult with an E55K though!

I found it very difficult keeping a poker face with an E55.

Try to be objective though as you don't want a duffer!

I had same thoughts both pics 1 & 2 show slight shading differences between the doors. As said silver can be a bit like that but will typically be from being re-sprayed as very difficult to match.

That caught my also and I'll be giving that a very close look. Off shortly to view.

Good luck - don't rush into it though! If you haven't driven one before the performance will feel amazing, so don't get sucked into it just because of that - they are all quick!! If you have any doubts best to walk away from it.

It took me a fair while to find the right car, but then I was after an estate which are pretty hard to come by at the best of times.

BTW - mine is an 04, registered November 2004 but it is a 2005 model year car, the 200mph speedo and central speaker mesh rather than slats are the easy give away.

Good luck...let us know how you go, all good advice above...looking forward to another addition into the E55k club:thumb: but don't rush into it...

Too late now, but it looks very like a respray front offside door and front wing. It's not just the shade of grey (if we are still allowed to say that) but the offside rubbing strip looks mismatched to me. Also no near side piccies at all...and nothing to show condition of interior. TBH the registration plate would also put me off, can't think why...perhaps those actually are the guy's initials!

That colour mismatch would pierce me off every time I saw it though, I must admit.

All I can say is.....wow!

I have owned some fast cars in my life but nothing..absolutely nothing took my breath away like that E55 on kickdown. The one other I looked at a while back was positively pedestrian in comparison.
I have bought it, and pick it up on Fri evening. One or two issues need to be sorted. Heated front seats malfunction and advised not to use (possible blown fuse for some reason. Keyless go works on all doors except drivers. Suspect it will be a new handle around £350. One small parking graze on osr wheelarch.

It does come very well specced with Linguatronic, rear and side blinds, electric sunroof, heated/cooled massage seats, 200mph speedo, fridge, dvd/tv (needs digi tuner for tv),front and rear parking sensors, new Falkens and brake pads all round, new MOT 6months road tax and a full service last month. I am a happy bunny tonight:bannana:

I'll be taking it to an indi very shortly to find out if there is anything untoward, but I went over that car for a long time loking for faults.
The apparent colour mismatch is a trick of the light. I looked very carefully down both flanks and the nsr door has been resprayed due to someone keying it and the match is not quite perfect. I'll post photos after a good clean up at the weekend.
Oh, the reg is being retained and yes, that was the owners name/initials.

Again welcome to the club:thumb: did I mention you can Eurocharged tune them to 560hp/750Nm+ torque....like mine...next forum event 20th July...have a look :-)

Cheers David. I think I'm going to have to get used to std spec for the moment. I seriously haven't accelerated that quickly ever! Just kept pulling and pulling past 100 ( I wasn't driving).

Now I have a car that fits the bill I will try to get to some of the meetings. Unfortunately Im at a wedding on the 20th, but there will be others.
