W211 E55s for sale

I have the VINs of the two that I'm going to look at.

Is there a way to check if either of them has been recalled at any stage for remedial work?

I rang the MB garages that did the last service on them and they said they couldn't give me that information.

I contacted MB UK HQ to find out what recall work mine had had done:

Not sure if they will be able to give out that information but to be honest, mine had one issue outstanding so I just arranged for it to be fixed FOC so I wouldn't let that break the deal necessarily...

If not, you could advise them you are only interested in finding out the recall status rather than anything else as you are intending to buy.

I'm so excited I feel sick and I'm having trouble sleeping with thinking about the new car. :o

i get that exact feeling every single time i buy a new car

infact i'v went a bought a car to get that feeling cos of the adrenalin i get lol daft i know but its an addictive feeling

needs to stop though its drainin ma wallet

So, once the deal is done, would you be going to any meets / events?
I quite like the look of the V-Max style events. I wouldn't run my car but I'd like to see some of the other cars going for it.

Nice one. I'll email them now. It wouldn't be a deal breaker, I'd just like to know what (if anything) has been done. :)

This is the last time I change car for a while. I do love experiencing and owning different ones but the buying and selling process does my head in.

They replied earlier today and said that they could tell me if there were any outstanding recalls but to give me a full service history they'd need proof of ownership.

So I sent them the chassis numbers and FWIW neither car has any outstanding recalls. :)

If I buy one of them then I'll get a full history.

:D

Honestly it is too fast and I have wife and two kids.

He makes it sound like it's going to kill his family if he doesn't sell it.

No sleep for me tonight. I'm setting off at 5:30 in the morning, stopping only to pick up a stab vest en route, before heading off into deepest, darkest Manchester...

Good luck with it - let us know how you get on...

That E55K at Keighly Trade Cars has 121k on the clock, I enquired earlier.

But hopefully by now you've bought one GreetMe?

Come on, GreetMe, do tell. How is it?!

when i was looking a few years back Keighly had some nice ones, all high milers tho!

awaitng the latest from Greetme

Was the car he went to look at in New Zealand?

Sorry fellas. Long day yesterday and I've been out all day today as well.

I bought the black one from Stratstone Jaguar in Manchester. :D

There are a couple of minor issues with it (the nearside foglight has fallen into the bumper recess and the electrical controls for the offside wing mirror don't work) but they've ordered a new wing mirror and foglight which will be delivered to a dealer near me and fitted FOC.

Apart from that it is absolutely immaculate. It looks and feels almost brand new; the paintwork and the interior are in amazing condition, unlike the silver one that I also looked at (MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS AMG SALOON E55K 4dr Tip Auto For Sale in Goostrey - Evoque Cars) which felt very tired and shabby in comparison. Also, the nearside rear of the car seemed to be significantly lower than the rest of it. I don't know if that's indicative of a failed or failing suspension component but it was just another reason not to buy it.

I was exhausted and the weather was appalling so I just stuck the gearbox and suspension in comfort mode and wafted all the way home. It was so relaxing and I think the seats are the most comfortable of any car I've had.

The Jekyll and Hyde nature of this car is unbelievable. I was cruising down the M6 at a very sedate pace and decided to pull out to avoid getting boxed in behind a lorry. I pinned the throttle and a very brief pause while the autobox kicked down a cog or two was followed by what felt like a nuclear weapon being launched from under the bonnet. The growl from the engine and the savagery of the acceleration took me by surprise (and remember that I used to own a modified B5 RS4 which was fairly rapid) and left a grin on my face for miles after I'd lifted off and let the cruise control take over again.

What a car. What a truly awesome car. Very, very happy indeed. :D

And while it's not indicative of any true average (since almost my entire journey was motorway cruising) I managed 26 MPG on the way home. :o
