Came home on Saturday night to find the car sitting in the drive with the front interior lights on.

Car was locked and alarm hadn't went off as my son had been in all night.

Unlocked it and locked it again and the lights went back off and have been OK since.

Anyone any idea?

OK folks, it may not have been just the front lights (I had been to a wedding).

Was just about to go to bed (OK I'm an old fart) and could see flashing yellow lights out the window.

Car had all interior lights on and was flashing hazard lights.

No alarm sounding.

Tried the key to unlock, lock etc. then the alarm started sounding.

Got myself a spanner and have now disconnected the battery.

Any ideas anyone?

Will Star find the fault?

I'm sure Star will find it. Fuses or fuse box or something sounds the culprit. Pretty wet stuff out there of late.
Good Luck with it.

Thanks, brought it into work today so I'm going to charge the battery then re-connect it and see what happens.

Don't forget there are two batteries in a '211. The other one is under the pollen filters in the engine bay.

I had a brief issue with the interior lights in my S211, but that was the tailgate 'forgetting' that it was closed. It was the rear dome light and boot lighting in my case.

Since it has all dried out in there (long story...) the problem has not repeated itself. I wonder if this could relate to your boot lid?

Isn't that just the 270 etc. ?

I've got a 220 CDi and afaik only have one battery.

Charged the battery in the vain hope that would sort the problem.

Parked the car up again and after a while interior lights on and hazard lights flashing, no alarm sounding.

Will look again tomorrow.

Looks like my alarm sounder is faulty form what I can see.

Now where to get one from and at what cost.
