of the top of my head.. igntion on, get to where it tells you x until service and hold down reset button... menu will appear in a few secs..

Didn't Mercedes-Benz try to stop customers from accessing these menu's?

Definitely a question as I only heard rumours.

You asked which dealers I tried for servicing, don't want to give names but one is in Manchester and the other just outside, they are not in the same group. Anyway, I am going to try again on this oil issue and see where I get to.

The dealer outside Manchester was cheapest and offered a C200 loan car because I am a Mercedes customer (otherwise a Smart) , the Manchester dealer only offered a Smart.

It is not common practice for this menu to be accessed or altered and unless we log onto this forum (or similar) then would we be any the wiser? I am not taking sides regarding this issue and I'm merely suggesting this one issue does not make a good or bad dealer. I would however moan like billy-o if the service department would not allow me to supply the recommended oil.

Don't forget it will be very difficult to give an exact price for any service as these are controlled by ASSYST Plus.

It's miles not Kms - my dealer sent me a card offering to switch my car to fixed interval. 12,500miles for A, B V12 & AMG models and 15,500 for all others - or 1 year, whichever is sooner.

Point of Order: So far, each time my car has received a service Service Assist reads 9325 miles to next service. !5,000km is 9322 miles.

actually entering the service menu is in the owners manual... not sure if its been disabled but I had a couple of 2004 cars and i easily reset those.
