Hi, I have a 2011 W212 with the audio 50 APS and media interface fitted. When I press the 'disc' button, the display shows CD, Media interface and AUX as inputs. I know what the CD and Media interfaces are, but what is the AUX one? Is there another socket I have not found? What can I plug into it when or if I find it? Like I said, a newbie question but hope you can help.
Thanks.

From one newbie to another, there ail be other members who know a lot more than me but in the meantime………

Aux on our cars is used for iPod.

There is a difference between an Aux connection (audio in only via the iPod headphone socket) and iPod interface which gives controllability. We have the latter.

Aux in is normally in glove box and iPod in either glove box or under armrest. I don't know your model but there could be female usb in under the armrest which will accept a lead.

Whether or not your model works with an iPod lead or the MB specific leads I don't know.

I have an iPod lead in the glove box which is active through the media interface and gets full playback control from the command wheel. Can't see any other sockets though.

I've reached and breached my newbie level of knowledge. Sorry.
I always point people in the direction of Alfie and Richard on the forum (from) command.co.uk. They are the gurus & top blokes.

I got a set of leads supplied with car and the socket is in centre armrest storage box on my 2011 S212 with same system. Plug in iPod and select it using aux. Hope it helps.
