It's done over 6k per year since 2010. So its not been overly used either. I'd say about average for a car of it's type, regarding engine size, it's not exactly a 2 litre diesel.

Depends what you want from the 6.2. really. I can't comment on the smaller C63. The Eclass 6.2 is a fantastic all-rounder like any estate. It's comfortable very roomy, fast and sounds fantastic. The w212 will never feel as soft and forgiving as the w211 chassis that's for sure. But it's a much more capable car regarding handling. Overall it just feels different tech to that of the w211 chassis. For the better in my opinion.

I don't own an estate so I can't comment. But the saloon I find is perfect for all my needs. As said above, the handling gives off the feeling your driving a much smaller car than what it actually is, for me it never feels like it beyond its limits. Tyre related, it just sticks to the road. The performance isn't up there with what's on offer today but it's no slouch that's for sure. Comes alive from 5k rpm especially the exhaust note. Is there a better sounding V8. I don't think so. But also sounds amazing low rpm. Mpg isn't great at all. But what does one expect from such a big litre engine V8. If mpg is a factor avoid.

Price wise in all honesty is way to high in my opinion. 16.5k Is top draw. It seems to have good SH, which is a good thing. Headbolts have been replaced that's a good thing. I wonder why though. Precaution, or failure. Would like to see the paperwork for this also. It's had 3/4 owners so again not that many for this type vehicle.

If you really want to experience the 6.2 w212 it's a fantastic car. It's the perfect jekel and Hyde type engine/car in the w212.

Haven't seen the spec list on this particular car. It's also had a gearbox service. Should also of had one around the 31k mark.

They are definitely a car to consider the 6.2 is a wonderful engine, it really is. But I wouldn't pay no where near what this is being offered at.

Let's get real, who makes these prices up for god sake.

But If you have the 6.2 C63 in your head, the w212 6.2 might be the wrong car for you. Don't think the C63 has the adjustable suspension like the Eclass does.

Good luck, If you do bite the bullet, you won't be disappointed 😁👍

I'm also not a fan of the, you won't find a better (E63 estate) available either. The advert is so overkill. I'm 100 percent sure you could find a better E63 estate available 🤭

It's also been off the road since March
And they have been dropping the price over the last 4 adverts for it 👍

Thanks for all your comments!

I've also been watching it drop and increase in price over the last few months too! ("special weekend drop" the other day haha).

With regards to preference, I prefer the E63 over the C63 due to being 6 foot 5 and having two dogs and a baby. However, we have a Tiguan for the "family duties" and a W211 as the "dog/tip car".

I primarily want the 6.2 for the noise and the fact that I have always wanted one. I recently sold an R8 and before that was an 2015 RS6 where both were more than fast. With regards to the mileage I would do on it, it wouldn't be much because there is also a W210 E55 AMG on the drive and the 300CE W124 and a R129 500SL in the garage!

A 212 or 211 M156 will definitely complement what you have on your drive.

The M156 is certainly a petrol heads engine to own in a life time.

The w212 does exactly what the w204 does, but with more comfort. Also pre facelift C63 have the torque converter box and not the newer technology of the sportier more responsive MCT box 👍

Comfort and the engine is what I am after. Does this car not have the MCT box?

Ideally, i would like to run the 6.2 N/A for a year or so until the current E63's drop in price a bit (hence the wanting to experience the 6.2). I also think it shouldn't lose too much value too.

All w212 63 have the MCT box

Experience it, get it done. You never know you may like it that much, you keep it 😄

Sorry but the more I look at this from the photos the more I think it looks like a hearse

OP - you’ll get a bit more headroom if you go for one without the panoramic/sun roof.

I have spotted this one - 2010/60 MERCEDES-BENZ E63 AMG 6.2- PANROOF, SATNAV, ULEZ COMPLIANT, LEATHER TRIM | eBay

I know the mileage is high but the spec is much better than the last one and its also a lot cheaper.

What are your thoughts? I'll double check with the head bolts etc
Six service stamps is not full service history in my book. Unfortunately it’s right in the danger zone for worn camshafts and buckets. It would be even if it had a perfect service history, but this one hasn’t.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy it, just make sure that you could afford to rebuild the top end of required during your ownership.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM STERLING CARS they are complete W______s I bought a z4 from them on collection I left it there absolute joke there yard looks like a scrap yard and whilst I was there (about an hour waiting for my money back) there was about 8 people behind me doing the same
Buy at your own peril
Motorhub have a better rep and that's saying something 😱

But other than that they were pretty good? 😀

Thanks for your comments - I have heard mixed reviews about the company too but I assume they just buy from auction and sell straightaway.

I'll ask to see the service history and any work that's been done - I know about the headbolts on these M156 but could there be a possibility that its had the camshafts and buckets done already?

Only because they've changed their identity about 4 times. 🤣

As a local, I'd advise you not to waste your time with them. As per above, I'd put them in the same category as Motorhub/Keighley Trade Centre in terms of "places not to buy from". You might as well go direct to the auction.

Yes it’s possible but the cost of doing would outweigh the cost of having it serviced it on time, every time, according to the schedule since it was new.

I’d say that if someone could afford to do it - or had the ability to do it themselves - then they’d have serviced it comprehensively too (much easier).
