So my curiousness continues in my new Merc E220. Have a few questions that has come up in my short ownership of this toy and hope someone can help -

1. Is there a way to change the Radio Wavelengths from FM -> AM -> LW without having to reach to Radio button on the panel (which could be inconvenience while driving and not to mention danger involved)

2. Is there a way to change the display from Radio to Nav and vice versa - again without reaching out to the actual radio unit and pressing the buttons

3. Parking - I have "A" system that helps me with parking. Simply put, its NOT the one that parks it self but have the one which shows little <- Arrow next to P sign when it finds a space for car to reverse into. I think its called ParkAssit (or Parktronic).

So, youtube videos say,

a. I should drive very slowly between the two cars and then that arrow should come up - Ticked

b. I should get a message saying Check the surroundings and confirm with OK - Ticked

c. You then see an arrow indicating how much you should steer your steering wheel etc... As I do this, it works for few seconds and then it says "Parking Assist Cancelled"

Anyone any clue [a. what I am talking about and b. what the hell is going on lol]?

Cheers lads for patiently reading and your help will be appreciated.

1. You can control this with the wheel on the centre consul by rotating and selecting the appropriate heading on the screen, pressit and you get a drop down menu.

2. See 1.

3. Was generally useless in our C Class, we have the one that parks itself now in the E Class and works very well indeed.

Thanks for the response. Just so I understand this - you said I can control this with wheel in the centre consul - that the silver knob you're referring to? I've used it lets say when display is in navigation mode and mothing happens. Similarly I've used it when it's in radio mode and when I rotate it, it changes frequency. Is there a defaults for the knob movements when in certain mode?

Sorry to correct myself when in navigation mode if I rotated the knob it zooms in and out of the map. If I press it inwards, it shows option within navigation.

as well as rotating and pushing (like a button) it can also be moved like a joystick, forward, backward and side to side.

These movements will bring menus up on the screen and allow their selection.

Basically everything can be controlled using the sliver knob so you don't have to reach over and press the dash.

I will give it a try - thank you very much mate; much appreciated.

** I accidently posted this to one of my other thread :( **

Hi - I just tried flicking the knob by the armrest up, down, left ad right whilst in -

1) radio (FM) - Left and right changed the frequency (same as rotating the knob) Up did nothing and down bought it to 4 Menus (Preset, Info, Sound and something else)

2) Navigation - Left and Right moved the map in the screen and up & Down bought a zoom in circle

Net Net - Still not able to Change Radio from FM -> AM -> LW or move between Navigation <-> Radio <-> CD

Someone help?

Reply I got from Richard -

This applies to COMAND, but you have Audio-50, so may be wrong ..

Press the Radio button and it will switch between FM/AM/LW each time you press it ? Audio button will switch the audio sources (radio, CD, and others if you have the options)
