Have picked up my new CL600 and I am absolutely over the moon with it. Can’t tell you what a thrill it is to drive.

Unfortunately, the driver’s side speakers are not working. Has anybody else had this problem? Is it an easy fix? What do I have to do?

I do have the bose option, but I do not have the little metal ‘bose’ written on the speakers!

It has been many years since I have worked on a car, so please treat me as a complete novice. Also, please be honest - can this be fixed by a dummy!

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If the issue is only on the left door speakers, I would guess the wires have broken from the movement the door has been used. Or perhaps just a connector issue. In any case it would be best to open the door panel an measure the wiring.

Opening the door panel is the most difficult task in my opinion. You should have a multimeter to work with the wires but even that is not absolutely necessary.

You might also check the bose amp output for the doors speakers, I wouldn't expect a permanent issue there though.

If you feel you would be able to handle the door panel (with some guidance from CL experts), I don't see it really tough to handle the rest, again knowing that you would get help from the CL experts and others at the forum.

Thanks Diesel Benz.

I have now noticed that it is the front speaker in the door and not both speakers. So it would seem that I need to get the door panel off. Any body out there no how ?

If it is only one of the two door speakers, then it is not a wiring issue, neither an amp issue, must be a blown speaker. But you would find the problem if you can get the door panel off.
