Hi Guys,

Purchased an S320L 56 plate with 90k on the clock.

I want to get an aftermarket warranty with the car but not sure who to choose.

Do they cover the air suspension?

Not with that mileage.

Congratulations on your new car. From what I've heard, Warranty Direct are meant to be pretty good...payout without hassle.

From my discussions with them in the past I remember they had an offering that paid half for parts and labour, and a more comprehensive policy that paid 100% but you had to let them check your car fully before signing up, and this was about twice the price.

Air suspension seems to last to about 100k miles anecdotally and likely dependent on many factors, so it will be interesting if they'll cover that. Let us know what they say?

Hi, Welcome, i have had warranty direct in the past and had no problems with payouts, they even cover for mot failure so pretty good, take a tip from me phone them and go through it with them but don't take it out straight away you will find they will phone you a couple of times in a week adding more benefits, still wait as they will drop the price, good luck let us know how it goes.

Useful info, I might restart negotiations with them, as I was torn between spending the £1000 on their comprehensive warranty or just spending a similar amount each year on preventive maintenance.

Thanks for the response guys

the main warranty companies (warrantydirect/warrantywise) offering me an online deal of around 780 for the year, which I think is excessive for an aftermarket warranty.

The dealer I purchased this from states it's had a new air compressor so I'm hoping this lasts. Everything else looks fine and hoping the warranty will cover the turbo/inlet manifold/injectors etc.

I'll wait for them to talk to me

Oh and I wouldn't be worried about airmatic - egr, swirl motor and manifolds would be my priority with that mileage. Been there, lots of money to fix it

I have a S320 2008 model with 70k on the clock and did an online quote with Warranty Direct -came up as £787 - seems quite steep but don't have any experience of after market warranties, is this the "going rate"?

I got a quote from Warranty Direct for a 7 year old CL500 with 58k miles on it. Cost was £760 which I thought wasn't too bad for that car. However, reading the small print I realised there was no cover for the suspension and since the CL has ABC that's a very big exclusion.

I guess they just didn't want to cover potentially very expensive repairs on the ABC. You might want to check if Airmatic is similarly excluded.

If I remember, that's for their top offering which pays out 100% on all parts and labour.

They have a cheaper offering which was about half or less as expensive that pays out 50% on parts and labour.

What was the final deal you managed to get out of them: price, additional benefits added etc? And for which Merc model, year and mileage?

Olimpic waranties 300£ a year and they cover first 2500£ from any claim
Been with them 3 ears now

Sounds interesting. That's for an s-class? Which model, year & mileage?

Also, have you had to claim on your policy yet? If so, how were they to deal with, and did they pay out without any fuss?
