Wanted - rear silencer (back box) e300d w124 estate

Hi

I need a rear silencer for a 1994 E300D estate.

I'm looking for a good brand. "As new" 2nd hand one would be fine, as would a new good pattern part. Must be a good brand as I can get cheap ones on ebay....

In my experience these rot around the joints and the pipe - the original box itself is probably fine? If thats the case it may be worth paying to have the pipe repaired properly - or bite the bullet and buy a new one - it was about £250 IIRC when I priced mine up last year - instead I had the joint repaired. The worst option is probably a non genuine new one.

I am weighing in a 250td this weeek and I think the box looks new.

i've gone and bought a cheap ebay one

i'll give it a go for now. main reason is because i've bought an original good "old part" centre box and i dont think my existing backbox will survive splitting them up, plus, although original MB and leak-free its been fixed several times now.

Jonny- if yours is an original MB one and in great condition i still interested; would have to courior it though.
