car looks great, just my tupence but these wheels would really suit your car IMO, always look best on pre facelift 124's.

Think these wheels are far too common on w124's,i would hold out for some period carlssons.

I purchased a Silverline and have no regrets and you won't damage the paint unless you are really agressive and foolish.

I did think a cordless would be a bit gutless, but I could probably test it for free

Thinking about it I do have access to a proper polisher, the guy used it on a 306 for years and it had a few bald patches down to prima

I thin your confusing these with the later AMG's, these are Aero 1's and are far from common.
