Hi Everyone

i have just been cleaning my car out and thought i would hoover under the foam backed floor mats

when i lifted the front pax front footwell i noticed there was a damp area that ran from the forward right corner

my car has a sunroof but i have checked the drains as much as i can and they look clear

any other ideas

was nt sure if this should go in bodywork section or interior but as i found the leak inside i thought this was best place,

thanks :(

I would concur with grober - the air con matrix behind the heater controls has two drain tubes running out of it both run down either side of the transmission tunnel and there are holes in the tunnel through which the tubes go and then drain the condensate and any other water in the matrix onto the road surface underneath the car.
These tubes are the most unusual and not the greatest of quality. The exterior is very thin and they have foam inserts with coil springs inside to force them to remain down.
Replacements are available from dealer and job is quite fiddly as getting them onto the matrix drain lugs and attaching a holding circlip requires patieince.

Dont discount the rearmost side (ie in the boot) windows in the estate.... these leak at the sides and water makes its way along via the vacuum piping into the footwells.

I had this problem a couple of years ago.

Placing some tissue paper around the area and seeing if it gets wet is a good way of testing it.
