Well it finally happened......

Have you seen any good guides to running costs, here or elsewhere?

Cheers

Before I bought it I asked my indie about servicing costs etc. he said no worse than my E320cdi.
I trusted him and bought it.
I have been a little unlucky with tyres and wheels, but apart from that so far the costs are not big. Mind you I am only doing @£15000 miles a year in it.
The Golf takes the brunt of the kck about stuff.
MPG 18ish, 22 on a run.
If you are thinking about it then go for it, I think you will be surprised!

Heh, CM wants a C63 PPP.... :D

Err I thought about an E63, but then couldnt reconcile the price differential.
To me a dream car is something almost unobtainable, but right now I am thinking DB9 or V8 Vantage.
In reality I will probably get an old skool V8 again(Vantage or x pack if I can afford it) and keep the 55 long term.
But then in real dream terms......Bugatti veyron, just for what it achieved or DB5 for it's elegance.
My all time favorite though has to be a Gullwing, with the matching luggage, like the one that spent many years for sale in Wandsworth. That to me would be the ultimate car.

well my ultimate dream car is a Jaguar XJ220. I'd have one over most modern day supercars.

When it came out I drooled over it, luckily I wasnt in the position to get one as the finished product was woefully different to what was promised, I mean a supercar with a metro engine. But I do agree, what a shape!

the shape is sublime, I've been smitten since I first laid eyes on it. But agreed, not a very good supercar by all accounts (metro engine, ford locks and indicators etc) but I'd still have one in a heartbeat if I was able to.

"Metro engine" is a bit misleading, and a bit of a derogatory statement - it's not the V12 they originally said but this car will still do the good side of 200mph...

They look the dog danglies on the road too, there's one around here I've seen on the road a couple of times and you'd need to go F40 or similar to have the same road presence.

I agree, it is still quite quick! I saw one in a traffic jam just outside St Tropez, awesome presence, never seen one used in anger though.

I sat in one in the Jaguar Coventry factory and saw one in action at an Air Show, they are awesome.
