What are our thoughts on this?

It's the sort of colour I think you'd have to see in the 'flesh' to decide on. Looks brown in the pics!

Nice spec, but even though the colour is unique, Im really not keen. Not keen on marmite either as it happens.

Not all that keen on the colour, and £14k seems like an awful lot for an old R170 SLK, even if it is an 'SLK32'.

Hi Gaz .First post from me hi.on the lookout for one of these and am scouring the country 24/7 .Saw this car and thought OH my ...noooooo.
Still going back to your comment you mentioned you didnt get on with it ? can i ask why as i still hav not driven one as yet. ta peter

I actually love that colour!! I had two cars in that exact hue a few years back.. Anyone remember the FIAT Supermirafiori? Looked really different in that coliur back in '79!! And, a Volvo S70 - again, looked unusual in the salmon pink and actually quite cool! :D

Nice!

ps- Love marmite too! :D

It's an SLK 32AMG = a look at me car--- so its fine--- the car can carry it off.:thumb:
p.s. the paint work would always have to be pristine to carry this "look "off.

Paint shops will hate trying to match it.

yes me too Had a 72 3000gxl capri similar bronze colour and siroccos .very much a 70s colour and not for me .seems silver in these 32slks was the predominant colour .

Could you imagine the shaking of heads/sucking of teeth from the trade if you tried to p/ex it?

Not for me, as I've said in one of my previous posts this colour I think is designo mica orange (020), I mean for sure it looks well kept.. but it would drive me crazy after 5 minutes.

Hello and welcome Peter.

I looked for one of these for a number of months, as the specs ticked all my boxes and I'd previously owned a C43 AMG. As I'm sure you're aware, the SLK's are very thin on the ground as only 200 or so were imported.

I eventually found one with FMBSH, 2 owners and sensible mileage and only about 40 miles away, so set off to have a look. All was good until I actually got behind the wheel. Within about 1/2 a mile both myself and my wife had decided we didn't like the seats (the C43 was the most comfortable car I've ever owned), and I didn't like the power delivery. It was quick, no doubt about that, but it felt very linear and didn't even make a particularly nice noise - after the epic V8 soundtrack of the C43 it was downright disappointing. So I took it back to the dealer, handed the keys back and walked away.

So my advice would be definitely take one for a spin (not literally I hope - bear in mind it has 350BHP and a very short wheelbase!) before promising to part with any cash. Hopefully you'll love it, but you never know.

I'm now saving up and eyeing the prices of SLK55's..

Cheers,

Gaz

P.S. are you aware the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 has the same engine, albeit with slightly less power (330BHP)? With the news that Chrysler are withdrawing from the UK market, prices of those are going to be on their ar*e in a month or so..

Cheers Gaz .Missed a couple with good spec but hesitated because they were silver and i just discovered them so to speak. There are 3 on the market at the moment...believe me i know! 4 if you include the KLEEMAN on Ebay, the brown one, black private seller and black from a dealer all overpriced in comparison to the silver ones i missed.
Used to the power missing my mr2 turbo is why im after one of these.would only drive it in the dry the thing was lethal 320hp! and a bit lighter i believe. They are extremely hard ride ...but had its upside the missus wouldnt come in it..Cheers Peter

unusual and quite a nice colour combination ...

Like Gaz I also couldn't get on with the tombstone style seats. I like the engine though...

At least it's not silver!

well said! too many silver cars in this range.

I don think the pics do it justice and it would look better in the flesh.

SLS pace car, yes please despite the horrid **** end, but not in silver, orange or a shade of red.
