What do I try next?????

Ok.....
My '03 ML270Cdi has an intermittent fault which stops it from revving over 3000rpm and loses accceleration, kickdown etc.

I have pulled the maf plug. Still faulting.
I have also dropped the atf and replaced along with the spacer that seals the electronic cable into the gear box.
Still the same problem.
This is only intermittent at the moment. I drove home from work and within about a mile from leaving the thing suddenly kicked into life. Sometimes it plays from the start, sometimes not at all.

This is driving me nuts.

What to try next???

If there is a crankshaft position sensor on your car, then try that.

It wont be the CPS. That will not cause that type of fault.

Have a look at the inlet port shut off under the inlet maifold.

Check the air pipes/intercooler for leaks first. If they are ok then it maybe worth lookign at the inlet port motor and EGR Valve and its actuator.
