I really wish they would make the traditional grill and bonnet star available on an E class for the UK market
Just buy one on eBay and stick it on....

Hi JBD - so my car is somewhere near but wondered if you could help me understand how near using the VIN?

Any help much appreciated!
By the time you arrive at a point in life or at a level of income at which you can afford to buy something at £75K to £100K+
It’s at the dealership, arrived yesterday

Thanks for that - something amiss as I suspected, MB said it wouldn't be in the country until Friday which is why they didn't deliver today as agreed.
They do tend to under promise and over deliver. Surely it needs to go through the workshop etc first

2001 CLK320 with a 722.618 Transmission.
What would be a good replacement ATF other than Merc Brand please? And I understand with just a Pan Drain with Filter change you will only need about 3lts - correct?
(I plan to do about 3 of these over a 2 month period).
Thanks in advance.

If he knew, JBD is hardly likely to recommend other brands.
I think it's Fuchs 4143 from Opie Oils. OEM, a bit cheaper.
Why do 3 x 3L pan drains when you can do the lot in one go properly, c. 6.5L, for hardly any more effort than a single pan drain?
Undo the cooler return to bell housing union, fill sump with 3L, run till the TC pumps out the remainder, top up another 3-ish L.
