What do you want to know?

Is it really that bad....?

I like it.......

MERCEDES-BENZ-C-Class--W205--5080_6.jpg

I just went onto mercedes.de and looked at building an E Class cabrio (which I will be ordering from "JBD" next month for a summer delivery) and I'm astounded that on that site everything is an option! You don't get the airscarf, you pay extra for a key (!), no reversing camera at all, no heated seats, no aircap, not even floormats. I was pleased though that they did include wheels, though the ones "included" are rubbish. For a similar set which comes as "standard" in the UK cost €3900 odd as they upgrade you to the AMG option, which is standard here.

They do have more choices of colours, both exterior and seats, but when you add on a selection of extras, the price goes simply berserk! The heated steering wheel isn't available in the UK, which is a little bit of a shame, but then again I doubt I'd pay €309.40 for that anyway.

It would take me ages to spec up the car, and I'd be bound to miss something. Sure, you can specify your own personal car, but for a premium.

I think MBUK have got it more or less correct. Yes, I'd like more choices of interior colours, but overall the UK way, to my mind anyway, makes sense and is better value.

I really wish they would make the traditional grill and bonnet star available on an E class for the UK market

Well you can buy the grill as well! Some have on this forum and posted the pictures.

Hi JBD - so my car is somewhere near but wondered if you could help me understand how near using the VIN?

Any help much appreciated!

It’s at the dealership, arrived yesterday

Thanks for that - something amiss as I suspected, MB said it wouldn't be in the country until Friday which is why they didn't deliver today as agreed.

They do tend to under promise and over deliver. Surely it needs to go through the workshop etc first

2001 CLK320 with a 722.618 Transmission.

What would be a good replacement ATF other than Merc Brand please? And I understand with just a Pan Drain with Filter change you will only need about 3lts - correct?
(I plan to do about 3 of these over a 2 month period).

Thanks in advance. :)

Sorry, but that’s way out of my area of expertise. I have little to do with servicing

If he knew, JBD is hardly likely to recommend other brands.
I think it's Fuchs 4143 from Opie Oils. OEM, a bit cheaper.

Why do 3 x 3L pan drains when you can do the lot in one go properly, c. 6.5L, for hardly any more effort than a single pan drain?

Undo the cooler return to bell housing union, fill sump with 3L, run till the TC pumps out the remainder, top up another 3-ish L.
See Black55's 'how to' on here.

It's not only for the reason of the lack of a Drain on the TC, but also it is a less of a shock to the transmission itself. And not only that it is far more beneficial because you clean the Pan and change the Filter 3 times.
This is according to some top Transmission specialists and is regarded as a higher quality way to do it. So that is what I have done in the past and what I plan to carry on doing.

But I thank you for the advice. ;)

Definitive answer please ;^)

How many w203 C55 AMG Wagons were built in total?

How many were built for the UK?

Hi I ordered a S213 07/012/17 - when will the dealer be in a position to give me a build date?

Thanks
