What wax for silver cars?

Cannot go wrong with Collinite 476S, used it for years. Collinite 915 is a concourse/show type wax, it still lasts a long time, but the cost/value against 476S is a no brainer for me, 476S. A tin of the stuff will last a very long time.

I would suggest to apply a sealant or a pre-wax layer before waxing (2 layers with 476S) to give the paint an extra layer of protection and depth of gloss.

I do detailing as a small business on the side, bassically i go through certain stages of paint correction but to be honest... if you want to just wax the car i use Swissvax with a cleaner fluid (helps the wax bond and stay on the car longer, also cleans the paint. You are putting cleaner wax on it which is a stage of waxing, there are mid and finishing stages to the wax, also if its white powder then most of the wax isnt staying on the car. You want it to soak in, this sounds like a polishing stage to me. I use menzerna which is great. PM for more details on what you want to know I could explain abit better

I use Raceglaze55, worked very well for me.

Picture below is after a 4 stage 3M machine polish finished of with RG55.

That's what i do.

Most if not all waxes will work with any colour car, some do specific waxes for light or dark colours, but this is marketing and not necessarily set in stone.

The likes of Collinite are a wax/sealant blend and will give you excellent durability, as long as the prep work is decent ie.. clay, paint cleanser, protection, then the wax will perform well.

Personally I think sealants highlight the lighter coloured cars the best, one I use often is Blackfire Wet Diamond and topped of with Midnight Sun.

Although my car came up looking rather nice after I washed/clayed/waxed it - the wax wasn't hard wearing enough.

I used Zymol cleaner wax. I also found it a git to get off, as it dries rather fast and then gets very dusty.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent hardwearing wax, not too difficult to apply/remove and that they've used on silver cars.

Cheers,
Ross

auto glym super resin does the job for me

On my 3rd Silver car..... Meguiars NXT Tech wax after claying. Looks wet through shiny :) Wash in between with Zip wax.. just keeps the protection going for months.

My boyfriend is in to detailing and has a silver R32. He swears by Chemical Guys products and Dodo Juice.

He also says that if you are after mainstream brand off the shelf, then can't go far wrong with AutoGlym and Meguires which all tend to be relatively easy to use for most people.

For silver, without a doubt a sealant is better than a wax. I used Chemical Guys M-Seal on my E-Cab and the results were stunning!

Just remember, it is all in the prep. I prepped the paintwork with PoorBoys White Diamond using a Megs G220 DA.

Polished and sealed mine a couple of weeks ago with SRP & FK1000P.

Check out the reflection on the front wing!

Rain just beads off and the car is still gleaming two weeks on.

Put it on the wheels also and noticed a huge difference in the amount of pad dust collection. I really recommend both products together.

stunning e55 !!! i have used autoglym H D WAX after SRP washed weekly with there BSC people always comment asking if she has been painted :bannana:

I've used quite a lot of products (mainly using Do Do Juice stuff now) but if you are looking for an excellent hard-wearing wax - Wash/Clay/Wash/AutoGlym SRP/AutoGlym HD Wax - This will last for 3-6 months dependent on how many times you wash/Washing method etc.
Cheap and you will be happy!
