What would you do? W211 vs W212.

I have a w212 e250 cdi now and have had a w211 e500 in the past. I actually prefer the build quality and interior of the w212.
Having driven both and owned both for quite a while it is easy to make the comparison.
I had rattles galore in the e500 and more interior noise than the new e class.
The w212 is the better option in my opinion having compared the two.
S

just got 50mpg for a 2.5 hour drive (mainly motorway!)

I got a 56 E320 Sport Estate a month ago, £20k, which works out at £380/mth for 36mths.

Huh?? How do you work that out???

£20,000 divded by 36 is £555.00 and that is them letting you have it interest free.

Maybe £2000 deposit and a £7000 final payment? That would be £379 a month at 7% apr.

I should say that when I was sat under a bridge and the car went dark the W212 did look good the way it was lit, just think that the overall feel is not as special as the W211 interior wise. Better built maybe, but not as elegant.

I just want to add, I think the exterior of the W212 is great, I also think the coupe is one of the best looking cars full stop.

Now thinking of buying a 2006 E320cdi estate with 60k miles on it for £7k less and owning it outright in 12 months.
Far more sensible. ;)

I would have done that, but they wanted more each month than Lombard and there was a £7000 balloon at the end as well.

I think I have a agreed a deal on that 2006 E320 cdi avantgarde estate, plus he is happy to take my car in part ex which makes things easy. Plus the car is £7000 cheaper than the one at Mercedes, I know it is not a sport, but really as a second car I am not that fussed and it is in a colour combo I prefer.

PCP's on used cars is usually shi** for interest rates etc.

The 2006 E320cdi sounds a better bet, 60k is virgin fresh and so much money you save. As you've said its now an old model, I wouldnt pour too much money into purchasing it as when you sell it it won't be worth so much.

Good luck

Well I was having second thoughts last night as I was picking the E320 cdi Avantgarde Estate up today, and thought I might always be thinking 'hmmm, should I have gone for the....?"

However, just driven home and really pleased with it, definitely the right decision.

Will get some pics up over the next couple of days.
