Ok so the OCD is really kicking in now!

Parking under the nice trees is driving me round the bend! car full of tree sap / blossom / leaves / and most annoying large splodges of bird cr@p...... every day!

Virtually all the company car park spaces are under trees, the only other available space was vacated because a branch fell on bonnet and dented it!....

I really want an AMG (E55 / CL55) and have just about saved the cash for one.... but I just could not cope with same happening.... do I buy a car cover?...or go for 2 coats of wax every weekend....would a G Technic coating help?....or just give up the company space and pay to park elsewhere??

What would you do????

I can put up with a grubby car if I'm doing a lot of miles but I detest Bird c**p and tree debris, and those little bits that always get between the wipers and the screen.

Would you want to leave the car in a pay @ display car park though? mmm quite a quandary.

I don't really like car covers to be honest, and you could only really use it on a spotless car or you would be better off leaving it open to the elements.

Yep another thing that drives me batty! the bits under wipers smearing the windscreen aarrgghhh! I cleared the screen of bits and wiped the blades before setting off tonight. :wallbash:

I wipe bird crap off when I find it.

Otherwise, let it get dirty and clean it more regularly.

Get some paint sealant mate, AG EGP (Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection) is probably the easiest to find in the high street (around a tenner or under and pretty good stuff) but lots of brands of sealants out their from Elite Car Care etc and that should help protect the paintwork for a couple of months and make washing easier. You can top coat the sealant with wax if you want extra shine and protection.

Hear what you're saying but its getting tedious every night!... the leaves etc... ok but the 1/2 dozen splodges of bird cr@p......

Already got several coats of AG SRP and EGP so I'm confident it's not damaging the lacquer just hate driving around with car full of bird cack.

Keeping pride & joy clean

Spend a few hundred on a runabout & get into bangernomics for your daily work transport.
I just got an old e220 with nearly 20yrs & less than a 100k on it for under 500 - an old violks might be a cheaper option .
Then go buy yourself the dream & leave it at home to gloat over, clean & love to bits: drive that when you want to impress
&
when the boss says 'why are you driving that peice of crap to work ?' tell them & anyone else that asks - that they need to have the trees attended to so it doesn't ruin everyones car
or
get the company to assist buying in a discounted valetting service that anyone can use - because of the trees - who is the landlord ?
or
start a class action by all employees similarly minded to you & have some/all/many have trees replaced by bushes in half the car park . . . .

I like your thinking, but as a 4 car family don't have room to park another one! .....unless I finally clear the garage and put an E55i in there!!

Could you not request them to install a car port in your space as some part of pay package deal,

That's great thinking! I've got a couple of old tents in the garage I can build a car port :-)

...have you ever tried cleaning bird droppings from a car cover ? :(

I would find another job.

Only option would be to park elsewhere. Tree sap is an absolute nightmare to keep off the paint, washing with very hot water does aid in the removal but only so much.

Car cover will just scratch your car to pieces every time you put it on/take it off unless the car is absolutely clean - which it won't be after the drive to work.

In that case, I would follow turunch's idea. Be worth a few quid to save you the grief. My brother bought a Laguna estate on an 06 for bugger all money - peanuts to run and you won't care about the crap landing on it.

Definitely. I park mine in the garage and you save a lot of crap landing on it like sand and bird shyte.

Clean again :-)
