Thought I would show you my wheels before and after.
They took around two weeks each , one at a time. They where in a bad way when I bought the car,
First they were stripped, sent to the powdercoaters who dipped and bathed them in a mild acid based liquid. Then baked. Followed by sand bast. I fancied a change to the silver and went for a Lamborghini colour.

On return I replaced the rear tyres from 225/45r17 to a slightly wider 235/45r17. The result was this.

They are so easy to clean due to the thick paint, so no excuse for dirty wheels anymore! :)

They are a bit marmite , But suit the car colour I think, Bonus thing is, as they have been refurb well, Its not a massive job to paint.

I prefer the new colour, I've always liked the 'gun-metal grey' look.

I also prefer the new colour, gunmetal and the black AMG centre :thumb:

Is that some dirt by the tyre valve? :D

Not sure the gunmetal does it for me but difficult to tell without a picture of the whole car.

Also is the car an AMG? - Pet hate of mine is "false" badges on cars (although in my youth I must confess to taking a tuned mark 1 escort mexico and rebadging it as a "1.1L" to make people feel doubly bad when it beat them from the lights!)

Hi, nope the car is not a AMG , but when looking for caps, I thought these would suit it better as they are now not standard, And yep, a trip to Scotland plus a muddy field has left bits of muck around and about, Will be minting back up this weekend.. ( here is a side pic for you pre centre caps fitted)

Had a quick glance and they look smart, but is that £53 each?

no harm in asking! im sure 10% wouldnt be an issue for them, just mention you are a member of mercedes club ;)

Various centre cap options can be seen at: http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/option/centre_caps_mercedes

Would look better with your current ones colour coded, leave the star and the round ring in chrome.

Thats not a bad idea. I was looking at carbon fibre with chrome star, But they looked a bit cheap..

We supply them with parts , so I would hope for at least 40% ;)

Thanks for posting the pic of the whole car.

Looks a lot better, although I am still not a massive fan. I guess I must have been "conditioned" to Mercedes silver wheels. Probably means I dont like change:eek:!

At the end of the day, it is what you think that counts and if when you look at it, it gives you a buzz, then that is what it's all about. Enjoy it:thumb:

After 24 hours of them fitted, The centres are not growing on me, In fact I really dislike them and think they make wheels look small, and take away the great job on the refurb, So I have ordered some A22040001259771

I am going to paint the silver part to a graphite colour to match the wheels, I shall keep you posted...

Get the lips cut and different caps, shorter valve stems and then they will look great IMO :thumb:

Ok, quick update:
New caps have landed

Started stripping the chrome star off ready for painting the cap itself in the same colour as the wheels..
