Wheel Vibration Advise

Good luck - I also have just fitted some new replica 18 x 8.5J rims - and they vibrate same as yours - same old same old.
The wheels spin very true on the hub - worth your while checking this on your car also to see if the rims are true.

A couple of my wheels have massive ammounts of weights stuck on but not quite close enough to the inner or outer edge to me. If only they paid prper attention to the job we wouldnt have this issue!

Everything smacks of modern day rushed, half-hearted balancing which really pees me off- on all my cars I can never get the wheels balanced properly.

It never used to be like this on my older cars ways back.

When you say "spin true on the hub" do you mean to jack the car up and just spin the wheel and see if it slightly moves up and down???

A good balance machine will (optimise) the wheel/ tyre position and minimize the level of compensation.

There's no real excuse for stacks of lead nowadays.

Yes - turn the wheel by hand and see if there is any obvious run-out on the rim, or whether the tyre bead is fitted evenyl around the rim. If everything appears spot on then either the tyre has uneven weight distribution or the wheel - i would suspect the tyre more than the wheel if this was the case.

Eliptical run out where the wheel or tyre hops might be my probem. It could be that budget tyres that are the problem rather than the wheels.
