Booked myself in today... 2 Dec. Normally do my new cars with a local firm with a Hunter DSP, but thought there would be no harm going to someone who knows Mercs. Will report back!
Turns out my car (W212 E220) was in fine shape, which is probably why it drives so well out of the box. Quick tweak to the tracking and it's a little bit better.

Your welcome..... Stunning car by the way. I'm currently running a Dodge Ram with the Viper 5.7L V10 and was going to upgrade to a Countach in the spring but now i'm not so sure.....?
Hi Tony, is this further work you're doing after fitting a set of properly matched new tyres on the front? I got the impression after our chat there isn't anything left to do other than fit new tyres to cure my particular pulling problem.
If the problem is pneumatic then applying aggressive chassis positions is not wise but saying that if there's still an issue we need to continue applying answers... The MB is a complicated lady so we constantly need to look outside of the box, this costs nothing more than your time.
I've managed to wear out the current set of tyres, so I'm looking for a new set now of your very bestest, totally neutral pneumatic drift/runout, set of MO contis.
Have emailed you.
Hopefully this car will finally steer like it's meant to! :bannana:
I spent an interesting few of hours at WIM a couple of weeks back. I had Falkens put on my shiny new 18" AMG IV alloys and then had the geometry checked.
The car was pretty well set (all within MB specs) but the guys reckoned a little tweak here and there would improve things. They adjusted the FOS camber, front toe-in and rear alignment.
Well, over the last 500mls I've been very gentle bedding in the new tyres but I could feel the handling had changed subtly. Today I went out for a more 'spirited' drive and wow!
Turn into corners has sharpened up nicely. Stability in long high speed corners is spot on and I seem to have lost that slight vagueness from the rear when rapidly changing direction. Don't get me wrong, I was quite happy with the handling before but just surprised these changes have made such a noticeable difference.
I was a little concerned going up to 18" (from 17") might make the ride harsh / choppy but if anything it feels better now. I seem to have lost the slight 'patter' over poor surfaces and tyre thump is no worse.
Thanks WIM, you have made the grin on my face that bit broader!
