Wheels In Motion

MB and myself monitor threads like this not to see if we have done something right but to see if we have done something wrong.

Reading the thread i want to clearly say i have every respect for the MB build and recently nearly bought one for my disabled wife only to be swayed by BMW because of the run-flat tyres.

I deal with a whole range of cars with various problems which is fine until the problem becomes historic at which point we need to find out why? i then have test cars dressed in our solution at our expense and assuming the complaint can be solved i go public for all to use.

Back on topic:
All cars have what's called an "eventual drift" due to the road crown, this is due to the crown deforming the tyres sidewall giving a unsymmetrical conical effect. The problem i have is the actual permitted resistance of the drift and severity of the crown datum is not released to the public. This means owners cannot argue, prove or deny a complaint is outside of manufacturers tolerance, this annoys me to the max.
