Which Engine Oil For W211 E270CDi

Right my 2003 e270 cdi engine oil needs a bit of a top up

now which oil do you people recommend

the car has got high miles on it

I use Mobil1 0-40 in my ML270CDI

As Panosonic Mobile 1 0-40 or 5-40 Cheapest from Costco

No particulate filter on the 270, so any semi or full synth would do. The handbooks are notoriously vague on this as they have to cover a multitude of engines with one book. If in doubt, give your VIN to your local MB dealer for his advice.

Definately do not use a 'semi' oil. The Assyst allows a service interval of around 13k+ miles....only use a good quality fully synthetic such as Mobil, which is who MB recommend.

As above, otherwise key thing to look for is statement to the effect that the oil meets the MB229.3 or MB229.5 specification
