Indeed it was. Sadly missed...... I doubt i'll ever have the chance to travel at that speed ever again.:(
 
Well, F40 didn't show, nor did the F430. I *think* (results to be confirmed) the fastest was Markbe in his SL600 Kleemann at 189mph (strong head wind) and me at 184mph, however, and a big however, my turbo is still not working right. I can hear the air whooshing out from behind the dash when on full boost. I stripped the AMG engine cover to fine a jubilee clip on an air hose was loose (quality control at the dealers???!!!), I tightened this and I went a bit faster, but its still not right, so back to the dealers again tomorrow :( :(

That's a shame Maff, but never mind. The MB's still did well by the sound of it.

I did have all the clothes and suitcases in the back from a wedding we went to the evening before, so a little extra weight! ;)

On another note my fiance Helen managed 153mph in my dads Nissan 300ZX TT :D
 
Getting her into it, that's what I like to hear :D

That's quite impressive for the Nissan too!

what you really ought to do is get her into the Merc ownership by getting her a romantic present. something that a girl would appreciate...like a nice 2seater roadster, so as she can take you off on romantic trips.

and if you got her a merc one with a V8 she could play with that at these events, which prevents her from telling you off for spendning all your money.

and dont forget, summers coming!!!!!!!!:)

just out of interest, and this may seem stupid, but has anyone ever tried filling the tyres with Helium? its bound to have some effect altho it will seep out pretty quick i should think! might help lighten the car tho.

how literal is that statement? was he nice to Boot? as in boot like a football? or boot as in large workman like footware? either way, your spelin is okay but your choice of phrase needs a good coat of looking at!

So the ultima wasnt quite so ultimate then! Did it show or did it break down?
Good to see two Mercedes as fastest.

It was pretty good going for the Nissan, flat out all the way, even I was a bit scared, even though I didn't like to admit it :) (apart from me shouting 'brake brake brake'!!!)

like, did he give her permission?
had you forgot to mention her new hair-do and she was chasing up?
i assume she wasnt in the back seat?
did she leave the handbrake on?


but to be honest, I am impressed. A lady that drives like that must be okay in my book. so, did she enjoy it? and has the bug caught her? and will your wedding be the mother of all GTG's:)

Thank you for putting good ideas into Matt's head about the SLK55, however his car will be half mine soon anyway hehehe.

Matt did give me permission to drive, he thought he'd be able to laugh at how slow I was but I showed him.
I realise now that if I had taken the handbrake off, I could have gone a bit quicker. Thanks for that tip, I shall remember that for next time. :cool:

Ultima did show up, but not sure what happened to that. There was a very strong head wind, and I can only think that ironing board like rear spoiler slowed it down quite a bit.

hmmmmm, only if you pay him half for it! otherwise it will remain his. thus meaning you need to get him to buy you, mine! then its all yours,! see! another good reason.:)

I am going to the Nurburgring in July, so just getting my practice in. :)
If only I had an SLK55 to practice in....
