White Van Man(iac) on M1 a couple of weeks ago

Just thought I'd put in a final word as this thread has gone off at a bit of a tangent. No offence was meant to van drivers in general. The guy driving this was clearly just an idiot. There was no blind spot, just his belief that everyone should get out his way.

As I originally said, I should have just let him go and kept out of trouble - good advice for every one of us regular, sensible people.
I'm quite happy for these kind of half wits to kill each other but we shouldn't allow them to affect our lives.......

Nick,

Ur white van man was clearly a lunatic no doubt and no offence taken by the post and good job you got away from the nutter.

However, I just wanted to say that not all white van drivers are like that - majority of offenders are company van drivers from my personal experience that need discipline. If its your own vehicle with your hard earned cash and your own diesel then I am sure that would make these lunatics think twice (its not nice to be generalised). End of day if company van drivers crash the van or damage other vehilces (its no skin of their nose) - you drive a nice car and therefore have nothing to prove to anyone. If I was you I would report him to the company as he is a hazard on the road.

I've forgotten the details now.
I let sleeping dogs lie.
Sorry if that seems a cop out to many of you.

Totally agree. Unless you obtain statements from totally independant witnesses (NOT passengers in your vehicle) It will always be your word against theirs. If you complain to the company they must take your particulars (and no matter what you might believe the accused driver will get access to them???) If they do not take your details then they cannot in all fairness discipline the driver. We have your side of the story, but I gaurantee his side will not corroborate it

Your dogs are far better off sleeping in a nice warm bed  :D

I once read of someone having a plastic toy gadget in his car that gave off different sounds. Lazer guns, phaser guns?? etc. so if he was angry with someone he simply pressed a button and 'vapourized them'. People used to wonder why he was grinning, but he 'knew'!!!!!

Regards,
John

And a guy I once knew had a fake gun in his car. He was a bit of a pillock and drove around in an old roller.
He had a minor altercation with a taxi driver a couple of yrs ago and waved the gun at him. The taxi passenger was scared witless and called the police on her mobile.
He got nicked and did about 6 weeks inside for it....it was in the papers at the time - not clever

Absolutely stupid. I have NO sympathy whatsoever. Six weeks was not long enough, but at least it taught the idiot a lesson.

The person I am referring to just had a plastic 'de-stress' box with different coloured buttons for the different noises. An ideal de-stress implement, no one can see it, and it cannot therefore offend anyone.

The whole thing shook me up big time and I spent about a week worrying that this nutter would come looking for me!!

A good reason why DVLA shouldnt be giving out names and addresses for a couple of quid. Imagine if someone like this got your details
