.......coz Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 diesels are pants:rolleyes:

Had the joy of one as a hire car today to take the joyous journey to Newcastle. What a pile of doo doo. The indicators were short of lethal - the don't click into position - it's a touch sensor thing - and if you have to knock it off - you often knock the other direction on - great for those following:crazy: and if you're not careful - you knock the cruise control on as well as that's a weeny button on the end of the indicator stick:crazy:

The engine was so rough - no pull at all. It had done just shy of 7k miles and sounds like ti should be scrapped - rattles all over the place.

Even the fact it was silver couldn;t redeem it.

But here's sommat that will make you giggle - guess what I did - twice!!!! forgot the damn thing was manual and wondered why it was bouncing all over the place as I came to a junction:cool: :p :o once OK - but twice - oops:D

Typical woman driver ! :D

This has reminded me of a story I read some 20 years ago about an American woman who was on holiday in the UK.
She collected a Granada from Heathrow and drove to Cornwall.
She thought that British cars were rubbish 'cos the Granada made a dreadful grinding noise when she put it into gear. It only did about 10MPG. Was very noisey and would not go above 50 MPH.
It turned out she had done the extire journey in 2nd gear. ( Manual transmission or course.)

Hope the Vectra experience was the only bad part of your day to why-eye land.

yeah thanks - was waiting for that:p

Otherwise - not a bad trip - the usual lorries and car transporters playing silly beggars on the way up - but only took me 90 mins - no hold up on the western by-pass - almost unheard of:eek:

I quite like the drive to Newc'y - it's my time to me:D

diesel/petrol

a visiting rep at our place filled his brand new vectra up with diesel (2.0 petrol version) near birch services and wounded why it ran roughly all the way to our depot, after telling us he'd only put in 3 gallon we tried turning it over with the fuel line disconnected to empty the tank after 10 min the battery went flat and he'd run out of easy start firing it right down the air filter holy thing, it did fire on one pot for a while, I couldn't tell the difference though

he he - cracked me up that - brill:D
