Hi

I have a 2004 e320 cdi estate and looking to upgrade wheels. Initially i wanted SL55 turbine wheels but have read that they dont fit? Is that right?

So looking for alternatives i found some genuine amg wheels on ebay that look like they are from an E55, ive checked part numbers and they are from a CLS55 so have different offset.

They are ET25 fronts and ET28 Rears. Will they fit or stick out too far, or will they be too far in and need spacers!

All help much appreciated!

Thanks

As above, without knowing the width and diameter, it's hard to say with just the et.

Front wheels 18 x 8.5 offset et25 225x40x18 tyres

Rear wheels 18 x 9.5 offset et28 265/35/18 tyres

Thanks

They must be CLS wheels with those offsets.

I'm pretty certain they'll fit but they might look a bit odd unless the car's lowered a bit.

The recommended tyres for the E class are 245/40 on front and 265/35 on the rear.

The ETs...30 and 33 respectively. They will fit...but 5mm spacers may be required.

Are spacers good for high speed driving, I have a similar issue
19x8.5 – 5x112 ET25
19x9.5 – 5x112 ET35
This would mean the rear would be in an extra 7mm (28mm)
Would a spacer do the trick without issues of 200mph+ speeds?

Can a 2004 E320 Diesel do 200mph+ speeds?

Lol!

BTW OP try using the sticky linx at the top of the page, all these Q's have been asked many many times.

Some real crackers on here, read my post, I wasn't on about an E320, it was something that a wheel/tyre company mentioned today in reference to my car

:wallbash:

You've got it the wrong way round. These wheels will sit 5mm further out than oem spec. Spacers would just make that worse.

In short, yes, these wheels will fit.

Incorrect V12, renault12ts is right in his post
ET33 means on an OE 28mm the gap inside would be an extra 5mm so yes, spacers required

Wrong again.

To the OP The WHEELS are ET28 and the VEHICLE OE is ET33.

To you, with your CLS, yes, fit spacers and don't worry about it. On the rear it's no big deal as long as you get hubcentric spacers that don't bolt to the hub themselves.

V12, I'm not sure now!
ET28 means 28mm distance from inside arch to wheel, so ET33 would be 33mm from inside wheel arch to wheel an extra 5mm inside hence not fitting mine due to large calipers etc.........no? :dk:
Is this what you were saying?

ET has nothing to do with the arch.
It is the measurement from the centre line of the wheel.

You need a 7mm spacer to bring your wheels out to ET28, that's correct.

I was replying to the OP with my original comments, seeing as it's his thread and all...

I wasn't arguing, just setting things straight ;-)

Your link doesn't really give any indication of if wheels will fit or not though, just shows you what is different.

If the ET goes up, the wheels head inwards.
ET25 to ET28 means the wheels will head inwards by 3mm.

If you DO notice it, get hubcentric spacers and longer wheel bolts - but it'll set you back about £120 for the pleasure.

Ive got a set of 5mm and 12mm spacers just come off my car if anyone needs lol. Just changed my wheels, Longer bolts too.
