Hi all,
I've recently bought a 1994 SL280 (R129 chassis) which has a few jobs that need doing. One is that the drivers side (R/H side) windows regulator failed completely - with the window open of course - and with the help of a mechanic we had to disconnect the whole system to pry the window closed.
So now the window will not go down or up meaning I also can't open the roof. I have managed to get a good 2nd hand regulator from an R129 so here's my questions...
How difficult are these to remove and re-fit?
What do I need to look for - falling window etc..?
Do you have to re-synch the windows, and if so how?
Do I need any special tools?
Anything else to consider?
Thanks for your help :thumb:

Thanks Sp!ke, really useful information there. HOw easy is it to actually remove & replace the regulator itself?

hi
it not too bad to take it out u have drill out the rivets but to put them back they not easy u need pop rivets gun one of thses long scissor type it hard u can get rivets from the dealers

Success! Window regulator in and working...!
I now know why the old one failed, it was only held in place by the two bolts on the control arm and a single rivet on the main body itself. Somewhere someone has obviously tried to repair / replace this in the past and instead of doing it right they did a Heath-Robinson and hoped for the best.
Thanks for the quick replies and support.
