Windscreen repair / replacement?

Always makes me chuckle when I see what excess insurance companies charge because that will cover about 90% of the actual cost of the screen!

Because my policy doesn't cover windscreens, in the past couple of years I've replaced a few windscreens (all brand new and fitted at a legitimate windscreen company):

2010 Astravan £120 fitted
2004 Transit £150 fitted
2010 Range Rover Sport (with heated screen!) £220 fitted.
2007 Peugeot Partner £120 fitted.

Yes because I am vat registered I have to pay the vat on windscreen renewal claims myself. Don't think I have ever paid more than £25 vat which gives you a not too difficult sum to work out what the insurer is paying autoglass to supply and fit.....
