The wiper/indicator switch has failed on my 2002 C class saloon - won't hold in the right turn mode. I have bought a MB replacement but need advice on fitting! I had no trouble removing the airbag and steering wheel, but need to know the correct procedure from here.
(1) Is it first necessary to remove the steering position sensor? The black plastic 4" dia disc secured with three T10 screws? And locked in place with the red pin supplied with the new switch. Some say yes, others no.
(2) Next step remove the captive T30 bolt from under the column, it is undone vertically downwards.
(3) Grip the plastic surround and just pull off. Then dismantle on the bench.
I need to know the correct sequence, I'm sure it's easy to get it wrong and do expensive damage!!
Thanks in advance, Sean.
