Wood or alli

Piano black is my choice. To me Ali is early 00's now. But its not tacky like Carbon.

Wood for me every time.

Except on a blower Bentley

I am not sure Tim Birkin would agree. If he had some more wood on his, he wouldn't have burnt his arm on the exhaust, and died horribly as a result.

The blower bentley is number 1 in my dream car garage.

The alli is the best compliment for your model SL. It's a modern car with an interior to suit. The carbon fibre type alli is far sportier looking than the wood on your model, after all it is a 'sports' car not an S class limo or as said previously an older MB-Right, that's that sorted Malcom and you saved a few quid into the bargain.

Funny how people differ. To me the polished wooden steering wheels are SO 1990 bling.

The wood is not so bad to look at (but I prefer plain), the problem with the wooden steering wheels is you have to steer with them! A change of texture and percieved temperature as you are twirling is not to my liking. Walnut on the dash is something altogether different;)

The Piano Black on my SClass looks great, being biased i would go for Black.

Very good point and not something I had even considered. That would make me even less inclined towards a wooden wheel given that insight.

That is because (IMHO of course) it is one of the most handsome (and best sounding) cars ever to grace a racetrack

But not as pretty as the Lotus 49

Agreed.

try telling the youff of 2day that tho!

The speed 6 could hit 60 in about 10secs. Not bad for 1929! Some cars cant do that 80 years later.

i like wood, but on an SL i think the alliminum looks better/sportier.

burr wood suits luxury saloons better.

black wood would look quite nice though

i would stick with the alliminum personally, but either would still look good!!

Hello

I had alloy in the last car so like the wood in the bus? not sure what it is but looks nice being dark.

They can't spell Aluminium! (That took 8 goes and I am still not sure I have enough i's and m's in it)

Both MS Internet explorer and Firefox have a switchable on-line website spellchecker which can be used on forums etc such as this. Very handy.
