Would this be a poor buy? C63 content

Hah, that would be amazingly helpful- I’m flying to the UK tomorrow as it goes, and was planning on seeing the car sometime in the coming week. If you fancied joining me I’d very much appreciate the second pair of eyes?

I’ll send you a PM :)

The place selling the car sent me this link to a previous auction for it: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG For Sale by Auction

I think it looks pretty good- anything jump out to people more clued up than I am?
That front grille 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
Other than that , it's a bit on the pricy side given where the market is currently but otherwise else looks good. I would insist the grille gets replaced with the stock grille as part of the deal

Each to their own, but I have to agree with you on the grille.

Roughly how much would a stock grill be?
Pretty cheap through an eBay seller.
From a dealer, a lot more.

Shouldn't cost more than a hundred quid for the AMG version from the time (replica) an original may cost more potentially
For Mercedes E-Class W212 Grill E63 AMG Style Front Bumper Black Grille 2009-13 | eBay (this is blacked out but there's regular silver standard propeller versions too that are cheaper. )
Alternatively if you like that grille the way it is then you're already set. It's just I see so many e220Ds in central London all donning a panamerica grille and they simply dont look like the genuine grille to my eyes for some reason.

Other than that it's looking like a great car man. I live in Surrey too so happy to come look at it too

Ok, starting off with thanking Will for kindly coming with me:

The grill is obviously aftermarket, badly retained and would need to go.

A sensor of some description has been mounted below the number plate in a bracket that looks to have been made from mild steel plate - now very rusty. Maybe some part of the Distronic system relocated due to the grill?

One Pirelli and three Michelins, although the wheel refurb job looks well done it also looks like the final time those wheels could be refurbished.

Bonnet had an odd dent in it, although that’s the only dent on the car.

Load cover missing.

Aftermarket puddle lights fitted.

Some stuff to fix/change/find.

Dealer refused to let me test drive it unless I committed to buying the car- at that point we walked away.

As above, bonnet looks to have had paint, then dented again and loose aftermarket grill, issues with the radar sensor/wiring etc.

Seller claims it’s a factory Brabus grill :thumb:

Car has been well polished and the tyres were very shiny, but underneath as said there’s mis-matched tyres on the rear and the discs are quite well lipped - seller seemed uninterested in anything identified and shrugged his shoulders.

I don’t reckon it’s a bad car but not keen on the aftermarket bits and with almost 70k miles and the lippy discs I reckon it’s overpriced.

Sorry it went that way but glad you found out and the dealer's going to be sitting on that car for a long while with that attitude. Would you consider a twin turbo 5.5l at all?there's more of those out there

I would, yes. From my searching (which I admit is inexpert) there don’t seem to be many around.

If you fancy i can give you a spin in mine so you can at least see what it's like and whether it fits the bill. There's a lot more of the 5.5s going around than the 6.2s albeit estates are very rare for both variants

For £24K you should find a pretty decent 212 E63
