I recently bought a CLS 500 - 6 months old with c. 7,000 miles on the clock.
I love the car except that I find the accelerator rather unresponsive and a little sticky.
Is this typical with this car or is it perhaps a problem with my particular car?

I adjusted the accelerator cable on the 230K, I can say that its transformed the way the car drives, its alot more responsive now and kick downs better:p

I have just ordered the fancy SS and rubber stud pedals but I am a little confused how to fit the Accelerator pedal. The others just slip on but this one is more complicated and I don't want to break anything down there.
Anyone done this that could give me a few pointers?

I've just aquired an ML55AMG and noticed that the accelerator pedal is wobbly (moves from side to side). Can anyone suggest how it can be rectified?

In the owner's manual of my CLK 55, it mentions a 'pressure point' on the accelerator when talking about kickdown. To me, this implies there is something mechanical going-on when the accelerator pedal is pushed beyond a certain point. However, I would've thought that kickdown would be invoked in...
On the odd rare occassion, i have floored the accelerator from standsill... the car takes off, but once it reaches the redline/rev limiter it doesn't seem to want to change up a gear unless i back off the accelerator. This being my 1st auto, is this how it should be ie normal?

It has only just started to happen but when I come up to a junction and I go into neutral or hold down the clutch the revs stay at about 2500rpm. Very embarresing :o ANyone any ideas what it is?

Been driving the coupe today and the accelerator pedel is very hard, I tried to rev the car from the throttle body and this is very hard to move. I guees I need to strip it and lubricate it, anyone done the job before? A few points in the right direction is what Im after really.
