recently bought a w203 C220 cdi estate (thus have just joined the forum!) and a message for the B service has come up. The car only has 45k miles on the clock and from I read somewhere in the manual at this stage MB recommends a gear box / transmission service. The car is an automatic...
When looking under my car I noticed what looks like a jacking point dead centre, about 50cm back from the license plate. Can anyone tell me if this is a jacking point? Don't want to try lifting the car on it till I know!

Steering and traction is amazing, quick enough with 300+ HP, nice exhaust note but ageing interior. I'm going out for another spin :)
Hi Guys. I know this subject has been covered on here but after spending an hour searching through the site I cant seem to find it.

I want to run my 2008 c220cdi on it, but thought I would read up from people who might know more than me.
If some one knows of a thread and can...
I need to get (and fix it in) an O/S Rear Jacking Point for W168 facelift (4/2001 - 8/2004).
I've looked at diagrams and it is not clear, which part it is, particularly as none of them named anywhere near something like "jack point" :dk:
I'd really appreciate some help in identifying the...

Hi guys, had our 2004 c180k a few days now and still very pleased with it. Both myself and the mrs have noticed the biting point is very low. It does not slip or anything like that and is still fine to drive/change gear etc.
The car has 64k on the clock. I'm not very mechanically minded but...

Have a look at this thread, a Peugeot is sat covered in dirt for 4 years. Leave a Merc (pre 2004 certainly) like that for 4 months and it will rust to nothing. However, the Peugeot coems out smelling like roses, without a spec of rust (as far as I can see).
In fact after the commendable clean...
Hi.
Having removed the inner boot cover to check the Central Locking pump I have found it just sitting in the bottom of the rear wing gully, beside the battery, without any obvious mounting point. The pump itself does not appear to have a fixing bracket and the area of the car is pretty much...

My partner was pulled over today by a Police car and was issued a fixed penalty ticket (3 points and £60 fine) for going through a red light.
The car she was driving is registered to myself but she has an insurance policy under her own name on the vehicle.
So the Police officer that...

I'm having a confusing time, and confused.com are not helping at all. I'm 21 and have the dosh ready for both a C250 TD estate and the insurance (best quote so far is £800 fully comp in my name with the Co-op) but I feel there must be a better deal out there.
A mate of mine insures...
Did anybody see a story recently about proposed legislative changes with regard to dealer-only servicing in order to maintain dealer warranty?
Apparently it is contrary to fair competition laws (or summink!) that the dealers have stipulated cars must be serviced by them in order for the new car...
