Hi all,
Family member is looking at recent but previous stylie A-Class as a runabout, thinking along the lines of around 2009-2010 onwards.
I recall on the original A-class, any auto transmission woes were a major headache and in most cases rendered the car beyond economic repair as you...
Does anyone happen to know what is the safe limit for torque for the autobox in a C207 (E350CDI)?
I am considering a remap and I am told 750Nm is possible, which I do not doubt, but I want to satisfy myself it is well within the transmission's capability. The standard output is 620Nm...
so my local chandler has one of those vacuum devices to suck oil out of the dipstick tube.
I also note that they have a rubber strap wrench, this looks a bit kinder to the plastic filter canister than a chain wrench, has anyone used one of these?
any thoughts?
Hi I am new to this, and new to Mercedes, I am thinking of buying a E320 CDI 2003 model. I keep reading about a lot of problems with these cars, and am therefore trying to get some straight answers here. So is it safe to buy one of these, the one I am looking at has got 94K miles, full MB...

When the S button is selected and I try to drive the car hard. It will go into safe mode I then stop the car, switch off, then when restarted it will be ok. As long as the car is being driven normal everything is ok the problem only...

The alloys generally in good condition but on arrival home I noted that two of them have quite a lot (probably up to 1mm) corrosion on the hub facing. The guy is also selling the car from which they came and he said it...
I am concerned that it will drive traffic away from the safer Motorways to the less-safe A and B roads.
I have seen this happen in France and Italy where in some areas the toll roads are virtually empty and the local roads are packed with traffic (and accidents).
What do you think?

Had a clean install on my laptop recently and need to install EPC & WIS.
I have the WIS discs but can't find my EPC disc.
Does anyone know of a safe site to download the EPC from?
TIA.
Paul.
I am on a tight budget. My car needs 2 more front tyres.
My genius idea is to use the 10 yr old original (Continental or Micheline, can't remember) spare and buy a single new one of the same make.
I know rubber degrades, but this tyre has had a literally stress free life and I drive gently...
A family member is going to visit me in the US soon and wants to know where he can park his Bentley. He lives in London and will go for a month. Is there a service or a company that can take care of his not-so-cheap car while he's away for that long? The last thing he wants to do is park it on...

I had been stood outside the car with the door open chatting dor a good 15 minutes. Got in and put the key in and before I turned it the message came up.
It went off as soon as the key was...
Following on from a thread on another forum where a member was asking about servicing an old trolley jack , I thought it would be worth copying the following over here for the benefit of newer members who perhaps have less experience of working on cars and have not heard some of the safety rules...
