Probably an old subject but my exhaust trims have never been cared for and are black with burnt on soot. It would be nice to restore the polished steel look - any tips on rejuvenating much appreciated...;)

Hi I am thinking of fitting chrome wheel arch trims to my R230 SL 350 2003 model,I have had some work done on the rear arches and just thought this addition would finish them off nicely,does anyone know anyone who has had them done and do they look ok,any advice would be helpful,thanks.:thumb:

My exhaust trims/tips are absolutely filthy. Does anyone know if they come off or are they fixed permanently to the rear boxes? If I could get them off them I can give them a proper clean and renovation with Autosol etc. I had a qucik look underneath but it is not obvious if they detach or not.
