Hi guys I came across your site while looking for a good resource for info on these cars that I'm potentially looking to purchase in the near future. Some info I'm looking for from owners on here:

Any known major issues( recall problems etc I would need to check for)
Expensive service items/intervals
Mileage expected out of Tyres
Average MPG city driving
Tuning potential - I swore I would leave my next car alone. But minor performance. Enhancements may be considered!

Any help on the above areas would be appreciated and greatly help my search for a nice c63

hi don't worry about the camshaft issues just listen for some tapping noise when cold

I have a 1 owner (MBUK) 2008 C63 with 27000 miles on it, I bought it in February and haven't looked back since.

As for major issues - I haven't had any as yet.

My last service was a 'B' service - it was only £280 including the VAT at my local main dealer on Inverness.

My rear tyres were nearly new when I bought the car - they have done 5000 miles and are needing replaced now (ordered Goodyear Asymmetric 2's yesterday - £420 for the pair fitted) - so I'd say 6000 miles out of the rears is all you can expect really.

MPG around town can be as low as 15 and as high as the low 20's, my computer says the average over the 5000 miles I've had it is 21.8 MPG, the best I've had is 28.3 on a 170 mile run.

There's lots of tuning potential, from a simple re-map to supercharging etc. No doubt someone will be along soon to tell you about some options.

Thanks guys I'm living in Ireland so it will be ran on 95 unleaded can they ecu deal with that fuel safely? I will probably need to come over to uk for for a remap I'd say. So remap with some different air filters. Any other easy tweaks that won't break the bank? Coming from a turbo world I'm sure the tuning paths a different. When u have a big 6.3 lump to play with!

Servicing wise I really don't think our cars are to bad at all. For what the dealer charged me for my last service wich was oil filter, fuel filter, diff fluid change, I supplied the oil. Dealer charged me £320 so add on what the oil cost me it was under £400. A renault Clio 1.5 dci on a 52 reg will set you back around £350 for just oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter. I know this because I've just serviced my sisters one and I called renault as I was curious how much it would be. Parts on the other hand may be a different matter.

There's a warning in the manual to run it on 98RON.

I do, some don't.

95 is the best available currently over here. I had to get my legacy map tweaked when the fuel quality dropped as it was knocking with anything over 1 bar of boost.
