Hi All,

I have to change the engine in my 200t 2.0L as one cylinder is damaged. Can I use a standard engine block and my own cylinder head. The camshaft in the 200t is heaver than the saloon version I think this is to accomadate the self leveling suspension pump but I am not sure. I have located a standard 2.0L donor engine but cannot find one for a 200t.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Zippy :)

Hello and welcome Zippy :)

Stu

Sorry to hear about your engine . . . how many miles had it done when this occured ?

Does your C200T have self levelling rear suspension (I assume you are talking about a 1998 C Class estate ?) - Do they all ? Wasn't aware that mine did !

Jimmy (our resident engine re-building expert...) are you there ?

S.

*EDIT* Just realised from your profile that we are talking about a 1988 124-200T here !! Have amended the title of your thread accordingly !

The 200T Cylinder block is the same as the 2 Ltr 190E. Yes you can change the heads for yours. You will, as you say, have to change the cam though.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to do the change over next weekend.
Zippy :)
