Hi,
On the way home the other day i braked suddenly which caused a can of Relentless to spill into the lower console where the gear lever and electric front window switches are..
After cleaning up a few miles later my drivers side window opened of it's own accord, at 80mph and refused to go up using the switch...
Got it up in the end, and after a few more occurrences of this, I got home.
Sprayed the switch (without taking the gear surround off) with electrical contact cleaner from halfords and now although the window doesn't open on it's own whilst driving it does open when the driver's door is opened and needs to be closed with the key...
The up/down switch works fine on all occasions (auto down doesn't work anymore but I can live with that) but the opening when the door (either n/s or o/s) opens is getting rather annoying.
I've taken the switch out of the surround and sprayed again but it still does it. Having disconnected the switch fdrom the electrics does resolve the problem (this didn't surprise me) - do I just need to get a new pair of switches?
It's only a C180 classic so just has two front electric windows/mirror switches and in that part of the console...
Whatcha think?
Alex
