I see Jay at Mercland has a 99K mile 2000 CLK55 for sale at £9490, here.

Mine is a year younger, 30000 less miles and identical spec, except for the wheels. I know Jay prices his cars very competitively so does this mean that W208 CLK55 are rising slightly? I paid the same money for my car 4 months ago.

Sounds a bit steep to me, my 2001 Facelift E55 with 132K on the clock is only worth £5600 so why he thinks thats worth nearly £10K is beyond me, especially as one of those when on ebay last week for less than £6K

Because;

A: Its a dealers car
B: Will have a warrentee
C: Will have full history
D: The purchaser will have comback
E: The seller may offer flexable payment plans (finance, Credit Card etc)
F: Coupe's are worth alot more that saloons.
G: It has under 100k which is a mental line for many for buyers
H: It would have had a full check over before sale
I: A full valet would have been done
J: Any bodywork imperfections may have been attended to

Shall I go on?

Quite a few traders saying that, might put my clk up for sale to see if i can get sensible money for it.

Might trade mine for an XKR now then :D As I said in a previous post a few weeks back, my local MB dealer offered me £6250 for my 2001, 69K miler CLK55, so Jay either has a HUGE margin in that '55 or he paid top trade money for it.

Looks a nice one Jay !

Must say i don't like the Brabus wheels on it thoguh , sorry :o

Thats the one...

good cars are difficult to find and prices have gone up hugely recently.

It looks good Jay. Apart from the alloys (which are an acquired taste) it is excatly the same spec as mine, where those alloys a factory option? Have you had any joy with the remainder of the history? When I went into MB South Lakes after getting mine they managed to print off the entire history of my car despite the fact that it had never previously been serviced by them. It serves as a great back up to the 'duplicate' fully stamped service book that I have. Oh, and your car has the 'advantage' of a spare key!

So how much have trade prices risen over the last few months?

Has it also not got xenons? It certainly has the headlamp wash wipe button on the console.

need to change the link to your site on the add also, directs to .com

I got another copy of Glass guide off Ebay ( April's) and noticed that since february's edition that certain prices have firmed, but not by thousands, but at least they stopped falling which is good for the market.

The thing I find confusing is the mileage adjustment figures in Glass they really seem to punish the AMG's. For example, a W210 2001 AMG E55Saloon with 130k miles is supposed to be worth £1800 less than one with the expected 73k miles. Yet, I dont see people acepting that in the real world ( maybe just at Auction?). Having said that Ive seen a 2001 W210 AMG E55 with approx 50k miles on a delaers at £9995 wheras the Glasses guide (IIRC) indicates a retail price nearer £6-7k - go figure.

link works, hmm I better go have another strong coffee :)

Ah, I see you use autotrader for the hosting bits, maybe they had a glitch
