2005 slk 350 171 srs warning light

Hi All,

I recently bought a 2005 slk350 and the SRS light comes on the dash when the ignition is switched on, but once the car is started it goes off

can someone please tell me if this in normal or is there a fault

Sounds fine. If there were a problem it would stay on.

If you get a fault it will come up with srs visit workshop, it's normal for it to take a couple of seconds to go off as its self testing the system.

That is the designed behaviour. It lights briefly so you (a) know the bulb actually works and (b) so that someone unscrupulous can't disconnect the bulb to hide a SRS fault without it being detectable !!

Of course this is becoming part of the MOT test
