hello i am new to this forum. i have just got myself a 2008 clk with the command system inside. now the last owner has lost the disk for the system and i would really like to buy another one at the best price i can. as im sure everyone would :p iv been looking on ebay for a few days now and seem to see alot of diffrent disks which are starting to confuse me.

could some one give me a small helping hand in to which disk i shall be looking for my car? id quite like to go for the 2009/10 or the 10/11

You need the NTG2 DVD. The packaging has a blue stripe on it. Latest is 2010/2011 (version 12)

You can see it here (and cheaper than MB)

Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: Mercedes Navigation Disks :: Comand APS Map DVD Europe 2010/2011 (V12.0) for A,B,W203 C,CLK,ML,R,GL, Sprinter, Viano, Vito

Make sure you get the NTG2 DVD ... (there are lots of different systems, and the stripe on the package changes colour, there are also CD sets for Audio-50-APS - the DVD is for COMAND APS (full colour satnav)

Please ensure you don't run a copy
a) Its illegal
b) It is my experience that COMAND running copied disks get very hot, and there is not a lot of ventilation space behind the COMAND on the CLK.

hi thanks for the link/reply if i was to buy this disk would i need an update disk aswell? i hear some systems need that

cheers

No firmware update disks needed. And the 08 Comand unit's AGW won't need an update either (it is part of the audio system)

right got the disk and placed it into the car and the update started and lasted for 10mins it then came up with a disk error so i clicked the retry button and it went off updating again this time it finnished in german so i could not read what it then said. it would not allow mt to click yes so i had to hit no. all was kinda ok maps loaded and i set up the sat nav all happy everything worked fine ta the lot. i then finnished my run and turned off the car pulled out the key and the command system would not shut off. even when i pushed in the off button?. so i was kinda upset and took it to the merc dealer(if i didint i would have no battery) and they said it was a normal problem with command and reset the system for me and said to keep an eye on it and they would look at it closer on the next service and replace if need be. but they would not touch the disk as i did not buy it from them?

could some one help me and tell me if i went wrong some where? do i need an update disk since there is nothign on the system has it has all been wiped?

cheers

What do you mean by 'there is nothing on the system' ?

It looks like your COMAND got stuck in the middle if the update, yes, sometimes you have to pull the fuse if that happens (very very rarely) and yes you can lose your navigation history and saved destinations and other settings

You do not need an update disk

I presume you got the disk from above then I know it is a genuine Mercedes disk.
