4x4 driven into my fence!!!!

Did they tell you that they will now have a reference, should a witness or driver come forward? So that they would then get in touch?

Either way, it looks like you might have to do some simple foot work yourself (if it matters enough to you). Identify the parts would be a good start.

I provided a full registration number, car make model and colour and description of the driver having come face to face when said car/driver mounted the pavement and knocked over my parents front wall. Instantly reported, not a peep from the old bill.

Love the picture, thankfully it wasn't that bad, and at least I would of caught them that way ;)

I don't really see much else I can do. I should be getting some paperwork through from the old bill next week so would have a ref on that?

I might have a gander about, so keep your eyes open for a Discovery without it's front and back left side bumper missing, plus front left indicator...

I could ask about at body repair shops too, but I have no proof, so if they deny which I assume they will, I can't do anything.. :(

It is so unfair for you to have to do the footwork, but if you were lucky enough to locate the Discovery then the bits you have will perhaps be like a jigsaw puzzle.

You might be better off putting everything behind you and not getting too involved, or you might be like me

I have absolutely nothing to do during the day and would volunteer to help phone a few bodyshops? Up to you.

Regards,
John

Aw thanks John. :)

The problem is where do I take it if I find the bugger who did it? They're just going to deny it. :(

I just get more wound up thinking that they're out there somewhere....

These are the pieces I have

And this is the culprit vehicle:

On the rear of the plastic with the reflector in it, what do the markings say?

Is there a year & month indicator?

I'll take a look tomorrow, I left my pieces in my friends car after I went to station.

I'll have a chat via pm.

Bye for now,
John

By the look of the parts that were left at the scene, the car in question isn't going into any bodyshop.
If it's repaired at all it will be using scrapyard parts and a DIY job.

Just look at the state of the parts.

:o It is possible the Police said the same thing and there is a chance your right, but unfortunately it has never been in my make-up to just lay down without making an effort to locate this person?

The glass will ALWAYS be half full.

Who cares who wins :o is NOT an option.

Please, please note I have NEVER said the owner will definitely go to a bodyshop and in post number 16 of this thread I have already suggested your very point. :)

If there is a slight chance of catching the villian then let's at least try?

The thing that worries me, is people walk down these roads.

What if someone was walking by my fence?

I don't think there's any harm in trying.
