ShaneyB: Is your car suffering with the wheel scrubbing problem that some C43 owners have experienced when on full lock etc?
I was at the dealer today, not for this specifically but asked about it. Was told that there are complaints about it in 43 spec from saloon, coupe, cabriolet and GLC 43.DRIVER200 said:Did you bother talking to Mercedes as it seems that some don't suffer from this problem?
I suspect the same but he didn't specifically say it.DRIVER200 said:What about the estate?

Have to say it's fairly bad, and somewhat embarrassing in public, as the associated noise attracts attention
I've had 4wd's before, this is the worst.
I get this a lot on the CLA45mgooda said:Shane Would be interested to know if you are getting a lot of front tyre scrubbing when making slow tight turns, more so when your tyres are cold. I know this is a trait of 4wd but seems really excessive on my saloon. Thanks Mark
Its the rear diff that causes the issue. Because they are not full unlocked, its trying to shove the car forward rather than turn because the inside rear wheel is struggling to turn slow than the outside one.
My C63s is the same but only had it since the cold weather so not sure if it will get better as the weather warms up and the tyres grip better.

Far better build quality than Merc, LSD standard too, pity the 4 wheel drive car is only available in the USA. As for looks?, still love the new Merc coupe shape, but when you see that Trident badge sitting in the car park theres only one choice i am afraid.
A Maserati ugly!
I want you to imagine a summers evening in Bologna Italy, you are just off the Piazza Maggiore drinking a cool beer. First you here the distant howl of a V8 coming down the streets, getting louder and louder and you start to think, maybe Lambo, maybe Ferrari?
Round the corner comes a white Gran Tourismo MC Stradale, god it looks nice in the evening sun, the exhausts burbling while stood at the lights.
Then something strange happens, all the Italians stand up and clap, some whistle, even the women are clapping.
The driver waves from the window then boots it from the lights, nobody shouts at him, calling him names, they all appreciate the beauty of the car and what it stands for, you can still here the distant roar of that V8 echoing, as he leaves the centre of town.
The guy at the next table smiles then adds, " Maserati, bellissimo ".
Tell me that happens in Hartlepool when you take the CLA into town?

You are quite right it is the diesel version, i admit it i could not afford the Ghibli S, maybe next year, coming from an MSL tweaked C63, i do miss the power and noise, but thats about it.
No annoying rattles or squeaks from the dash or back parcel shelf.
Far better build quality and materials, the leather is far superior, no bolster wear here.
For a 4 door, it handles far better than the C63 ever did, brakes have instant bite and reassurance even at high speed.
Throw in a 3 year Maserati service plan at £1300!
I loved all of my Mercedes cars, especially that last C63, but Merc and Audi et all ,have some serious competition on their hands these days.
Anyone considering buying a 4x4?, go and look at the new Levante, then compare the price with a Range Rover Sport!
PS Still waiting till the new C63 Coupe comes down to a price i can afford though?
