A Couple of Niggles Already

A Maserati ugly!
I want you to imagine a summers evening in Bologna Italy, you are just off the Piazza Maggiore drinking a cool beer. First you here the distant howl of a V8 coming down the streets, getting louder and louder and you start to think, maybe Lambo, maybe Ferrari?
Round the corner comes a white Gran Tourismo MC Stradale, god it looks nice in the evening sun, the exhausts burbling while stood at the lights.
Then something strange happens, all the Italians stand up and clap, some whistle, even the women are clapping.
The driver waves from the window then boots it from the lights, nobody shouts at him, calling him names, they all appreciate the beauty of the car and what it stands for, you can still here the distant roar of that V8 echoing, as he leaves the centre of town.
The guy at the next table smiles then adds, " Maserati, bellissimo ".
Tell me that happens in Hartlepool when you take the CLA into town?
Then the townsfolk get an extended view as you wate 3 hours for the AA to turn up as it inevitably breaks down.

I don't think I can quite compete there! Although I did get a nice comment of "****hot car mate" when I went to the local shops off a young gent, before asking me to go in the shop for 8 cans for him.

You are quite right it is the diesel version, i admit it i could not afford the Ghibli S, maybe next year, coming from an MSL tweaked C63, i do miss the power and noise, but thats about it.
No annoying rattles or squeaks from the dash or back parcel shelf.
Far better build quality and materials, the leather is far superior, no bolster wear here.
For a 4 door, it handles far better than the C63 ever did, brakes have instant bite and reassurance even at high speed.
Throw in a 3 year Maserati service plan at £1300!
I loved all of my Mercedes cars, especially that last C63, but Merc and Audi et all ,have some serious competition on their hands these days.
Anyone considering buying a 4x4?, go and look at the new Levante, then compare the price with a Range Rover Sport!

PS Still waiting till the new C63 Coupe comes down to a price i can afford though?

Just specced a Ghibli S to my C63 saloon spec, over £75k, only 6 cylinders, 70 ponies down in power and considerably slower to 60.

My W205 C63 is a great car has no rattles, great brakes and handles brilliantly with the standard LSD. It can be a beast or comfortable mile eater. At £75k I couldn't consider a Ghibli S, and the reviews haven't been brilliant either.

Don't get me wrong I love Italian cars, I had an Alfa 156 company car for 4 years, and hanker after a Granturismo but would I buy one with my own money.....I don't know, maybe the Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio might change my mind?
